Michael Monroe on Sensory Overdrive tour
Michael Monroe takes off on a record release tour with his new band, following the March release of their latest album Sensory Overdrive (Spinefarm/Universal). The album has received excellent reviews, topping the Finnish Album Chart and hitting the UK Rock Album Chart at number 13.
The release of the former Hanoi Rocks frontman and his bandmates – bassist Sam Yaffa, guitarists Ginger and Steve Conte, and drummer Karl "Rockfist" Rosqvist – combines elements from melodic power pop to punk rock and classic hard rock. The album also includes duets with country singer Lucinda Williams and Motörhead's Lemmy Kilmister. The enthused album was recorded in Los Angeles with Grammy Awarded producer Jack Douglas.
The Sensory Overdrive tour will take the band to Sweden, Denmark, UK, Italy and Spain, and later on to Japan and the US.
Michael Monroe will also host a charity concert in Helsinki for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. The concert titled Pelasta Punainen Pallo (Save the Red Globe) gathers an impressive line-up of Finnish artists to raise money for the Finnish Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. The concert will be broadcast live at www.ylex.fi on Sunday, 27 March at 7 pm (GMT+2).
