Arctic Accents boosts Finnish music in the Benelux
Fimic's own promotion campaign Arctic Accents - Sounds of Finland 2011 calls attention to all Finnish music in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg with the help of a website introducing artists and events, the use of Facebook and Twitter, and other means of communication.
The website www.arcticaccents.fi has now been launched, and it will be updated throughout the year to include all Finnish music in the area.
The campaign covers all genres of music from contemporary classical, folk and jazz to pop, rock and electronic music. In the field of jazz, Iro Haarla Quintet will take the stage at Novermber Music Festival in the Netherlands and artists like Kalle Kalima, Mikko Innanen, Esa Pietilä and the fellows of RinneRadio will perform in Belgium. Other jazz artists will be announced soon, and you can watch the selection grow at the website or by following the campaign on Facebook or Twitter.
The project is initiated and organized by Finnish Music Information Centre Fimic in cooperation with Finnish Cultural Institute for the Benelux and the local Finnish Embassies.
