'Cinque miniature' by Markku Klami to be premiered in Italy on Apr 7, 2006

Guitarist Patrik Kleemola will premiere 'Cinque miniature' by Markku Klami (b. 1979) in Monopoli, Italy, on April 7, 2006.

Kleemola will also play the Finnish premiere of the Klami piece in Turku on Apr 18.

Markku Klami has been studying composition at the Turku Music Academy (part of the Turku Polytechnic) since 2003, and studies also guitar with Timo Korhonen and Ismo Eskelinen. Since 2000 he has studied also musicology at the Turku University.

Markku Klami was awarded the first prize at the chamber orchestra composition competition by the Finnish Polytechnics in 2004. The winning piece 'Flow' has been performed in Finland and Slovakia.
