Services offered by Music Finland sheet music library for composers include:
- archiving of the composer’s unpublished works in the Music Finland sheet music library
- cataloguing works in the sheet music library works register
- publishing the sheet music library catalogue data online
- publishing and distributing sheet music materials
- publishing images of the sheet music online
Applying to become a customer
In order to be accepted as a Music Finland customer, the applicant must already be a TEOSTO customer. The applicant must be a professional composer, and at least three of his/her works should have been performed by a public institution (e.g. a member festival of Finland Festivals, the Finnish Broadcasting Company, the Finnish Soloists Association, a member orchestra of the Finnish Big Band Association or a member orchestra of the Association of Finnish Symphony Orchestras).
The application should include details of the composer’s studies and activities and any other relevant information.
To apply to become a Music Finland composer customer, use the application form provided. The form contains further information on what the agreement involves. The form is available only in Finnish.
Archiving, copying and distribution of sheet music

The Music Finland sheet music library includes about 35,000 titles and is growing by hundreds of new works per year.
Music Finland supplies the sheet music it distributes both in Finland and abroad and also publishes music online.
There is a notation studio on the Music Finland premises where composers can work on a Mac or a PC using Finale or Sibelius software. Printouts can be made up to A3 size.
Music Finland also accepts customers’ works for archiving in electronic form (PDF, Sibelius and Finale).

Music Finland is not responsible for securing the rights or permissions involved in the arrangements or lyrics of any musical works submitted to it. The composer must himself/herself ensure that there are no copyright infringement issues involved in distributing a work through Music Finland. If a work submitted to Music Finland contains copyrighted text that is not published, the composer must submit an affidavit from the author with permission to use the text in that work. The form is available only in Finnish.

Music Finland catalogue data are not copied into the TEOSTO royalties database. In order to ensure payment of royalties, the composer must himself/herself also submit a notification to TEOSTO.
