The tango, born in Argentina in the early 20th century, found a particularly receptive audience in Finland. Over the decades a local form of tango music developed, the Finnish tango, which has become an inseparable part of the Finnish cultural identity. We may go so far as to say that Finland has become the second homeland of the tango.
