Three Finnish groups to Denmark's Spot Festival

The eleventh Nordic showcase festival, Spot 11 in Aarhus, Denmark, has billed three Finnish groups on the programme running on June 10th-11th. Cleaning Women, Sister Flo and Fat Beat Sound System will all perform on the opening day of the festival.

Cleaning Women (4.30 pm Officer), men dressed in women's clothes and playing household instruments such as vacuum cleaners, washboards and clotheshorses, have made avantgarde into something to dance to.

Sister Flo's (8 pm Officer) moody, melancholic and melodic pop music has charmed the critics and audience alike. Record Of The Day hailed them as "a downbeat indie band with great songs and a truly charismatic frontman".

Fat Beat Sound System (9 pm Store Sal) was founded to slow down the hectic lifestyle, to lean back and float a little bit. The first-class musicians drawing their grooves from genres as diverse as jazz, electronica, big beat or reggae, are active in many projects such as Reuna, Nuspirit Helsinki, and Giant Robot to name only a few.

Spot festival focusing on new music from Nordic countries is organised by the Danish Rock Council (ROSA). The live events lasting two days on five different stages present more than 100 acts from almost every imaginable popular genre from pop/rock and hip hop to electronica, jazz and world music. Last year the Finnish scene was mirrored with Don Johnson Big Band and Redrama.
