Grammy nomination to recording of Rautavaara's opera

The three-act opera Kaivos ("The Mine"), composed by Einojuhani Rautavaara, was performed and recorded at Tampere Hall in Finland last year. Now the recording of the opera is nominated in the Grammy Awards.

Hannu Lintu conducted the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra, the specially assembled Kaivos Choir, and a cast of leading Finnish soloists including Johanna Rusanen-Kartano, Hannu Niemelä, Jorma Hynninen, Mati Turi, Jaakko Kortekangas.
