Suden Aika to tour in Denmark, Switzerland and Germany
Vocal group Suden Aika will give six concerts in three countries on November 10 - 17. The tour will be launched at the Islands Brygge Festival, Copenhagen, after which it will continue for one concert in Switzerland and four in Germany.
Suden Aika have just released their third album 'Unta', which features more instruments than before to accompany the vocal parts that remain as the focal point of the group. Included are kantele, mora harp, long flute and udu drum, among others. A music video version of the first track of the album, 'Varjosta', has been made, too.
'Unta' celebrates once more Suden aika's unique and identifiable style, one that draws influence from the ancient rune singing and modern vocal expression. The compositions written by Tellu Turkka and Liisa Matveinen have fascinated listeners not only in festivals and concert halls but also in churches, of which acoustics provide fine surroundings for the madrigal-like vocal layers highlighted by the group.
