Jalava and Hosseini in concert
Composers Pertti Jalava (Turku, Finland) and Mansoor Hosseini (Gothenburg, Sweden) will arrange a joint concert in Turku, Finland on 13 October.
The programme includes works for string instruments by both composers. From Jalava's output, the concert will present string quartets no. 2 (Perhealbumi, 2007) and 3 (Hehku, 2007), as well as Yksin veneessä for cello and electronics. Hosseini's two works for string quartet are also included, as well as a work for violin and electronics.
As a speciality, the composers have made a new work together, titled Pieces of Coconut. The new work was derived out of a short motif which the two composers then used to compose their respective movements.
Another concert with the same programme will take place in Gothenburg on 23 March 2012 by the string quartet of Metamorphosis Enseble (Belgrade, Serbia).
