"dei sensi" for two pianos by Johan Tallgren will be premiered in Tanglewood, Massachusetts on 13 July. By taking part to the Tanglewood Music Centre Fellows composition course, Tallgren joins the group of Finnish composers studied there before him in the 1940s and 1950s: Einar Englund (1916–1999) and Einojuhani Rautavaara (b. 1928).
Johan Tallgren (b. 1971) has studied under renowned composers like Tristan Murail, Brian Ferneyhough, Kaija Saariaho and Philippe Manoury. Tallgren's output relies on bright, ecstatic and complex structures and sounds.
