Verneri Pohjola signs with ACT

Trumpet player Verneri Pohjola has signed a four album deal with esteemed German ACT. First of the four albums in scheduled for release in the spring of 2012.

ACT has already re-released Pohjola's striking solo debut Aurora (Texicalli), and the release will be followed by a tour of Germany later this month.

Last year, ACT signed Finnish pianist Iiro Rantala. His first album with ACT, Lost Heroes, will come out 25 February in Germany, and 3 March in Finland. Coincidentally, Lost Heroes features a track dedicated to Verneri Pohjola's late father, multi-instrumentalist and composer Pekka Pohjola.
