Finland strongly present at Popkomm
Finnish music industry will join promotional forces and appear as a united front at Popkomm, Berlin, on September 19 - 21. Roughly 40 companies and organizations can be found under the same country umbrella stand assembled by Music Export Finland.
Popkomm is one of the largest annual music conventions in Europe, and holds a general focus on indie rock. In recent years, also other genres such as electronic music and jazz have been featured.
This year, Popkomm's wide-ranging showcase programme will present 13 groups from Finland as compared to 17 last year. The most prominent of the occasions will be Hanoi Rocks performing as one of the headline acts of the whole event on September 21.
On September 19, Club Frannz, one of the central showcase venues, will be dedicated solely to Finnish music. This profile night will feature The Giant Leap, Von Hertzen Brothers, Feiled, Crumbland, and Sweatmaster.
Other Finnish acts to play Popkomm include Op:l Bastards, The Valkyrians and Stalingrad Cowgirls as well as Frozen North Special (feat. Jussi Pekka), Roberto Rodriguez (feat. The Future Beat Investigators), Samuli Kemppi, and Valium77.
