Tapiola Choir exports Finnish choral music
The Tapiola Choir and the conductor Kari Ala-Pöllänen take the Finnish choral music to France during the summer and autumn 2001.
Ala-Pöllänen also conducts the children's choir of the Radio France (Maîtrise de Radio France) in a concert of Finnish music - this concert culminates a training period (11th to 14th June), during which Ala-Pöllänen and the choir are rehearsing music by Einojuhani Rautavaara, Aulis Sallinen, Olli Kortekangas, Erik Bergman and Juhani Komulainen. The concert will be broadcast in Radio France.
The Tapiola Choir in its turn will be giving a concert at the festival Les Conviviales in Normandy from July 13th to 17th. The programme includes music by Olli Kortekangas, Jukka Linkola, Erik Bergman, Einojuhani Rautavaara, Heikki Sarmanto and Pekka Kostiainen.
Ala-Pöllänen and the Tapiola Choir will also give a workshop and a concert in Paris during a symposium on Nordic choral music, organised in Paris at the Cité de la musique in November 2001.
