Finnish jazz shakes Copenhagen
The hottest artists of Finnish mainstream and nujazz realms will perform at Copenhagen Jazz Festival. The bold, confident and skillful acts of new generation young musicians are U-Street All Stars, Nuspirit Helsinki and Quintessence.
Energetic hard-bop with a spice of modern edge is the clue in U-Street All Stars' original compositions, while Nuspirit Helsinki and Quintessence are the flagbearers of Finnish nujazz. Their mixture is made of breaky rhythms, soulful phrasing and attractive lead vocals.
The Finnish jazz theme day on July 6 is organized by Copenhagen Jazz Festival, Finnish Institute in Copenhagen and Finnish Music Information Centre. Hosting this year also the likes of Herbie Hancock, Cassandra Wilson, Tomasz Stanko and Svend Asmussen, the Copenhagen Jazz Festival celebrates its 25th Anniversary.
