Olli Virtaperko is the new Artistic Director of Tampere Biennale

Composer Olli Virtaperko has been selected as the new Artistic Director of Tampere Biennale festival. The next Tampere Biennale will take place in April 2012.

Tampere Biennale is a contemporary music festival concentrating on new Finnish music. The festival has traditionally served as a meeting point for Finnish composers. The previous two Biennales in 2008 and 2010 have been directed by composer Lotta Wennäkoski.

Olli Virtaperko has previously acted as Artistic Advisor of the Time of Music festival in Viitasaari. He is also radio journalist and cellist.
