A concert with Antti Haapalainen's works in Turku on September 3, 2006


Works by Antti Haapalainen (b. 1966 in Kajaani, Finland) will be heard in a concert dedicated to his composition on September 3, 2006. The concert will be arranged at the Mikaeli Church in Turku, Finland.

The concert programme includes three premieres. Two new choral works use also instrumental parts: 'Hiljaisuuden puutarha' (Garden of Silence, 2006) is written for mixed choir and string quartet, and 'Pyhän Henrikin surma' (The Killing of St. Henry', 2006) mixed choir and wind ensemble.

The third premiere work will be 'Triptykon' (2006) for organ performed by Helmut Langenbruch.

Antti Haapalainen has studied composition with Harri Suilamo, Matti Parkkari and Jyrki Linjama. He works as a teacher at the Turku Conservatory.
