The Finnish power metal band won the competition held at the Wacken Open Air Festival in August.

The archive release of UMO Jazz Orchestra with guitarist Raoul Björkenheim will be out on 26 August.

Altogether, the Finnish orchestras will have 26 premieres programmed for the autumn season.

The opera was recorded in 2008 at the Finnish National Opera.

The opera is conducted by Sakari Oramo.

10 AUG :: Magnus Lindberg's Al largo comes to Europe
Magnus Lindberg's Al largo will have its first European performances in October in Portugal (Porto, 1 Oct and Lisbon, 2 Oct). The UK premiere will follow on 13 October in London, by London Philharmonic Orchestra and Osmo Vänskä.

The opera will be performed by Helsinki Skaala Opera 11 - 15 August 2010.

26 JUL :: Michael Monroe to support Motörhead on their UK tour
Michael Monroe, who rose to fame as the singer for Hanoi Rocks, returns with his highly anticipated new group. The band features bassist Sami Yaffa, guitarists Ginger and Steve Conte, and drummer Karl “Rockfist” Rosqvist. They will support Motörhead on their 35th anniversary UK tour in November 2010.

12 JUL :: Tuomas Antero Turunen awarded in Montreux
Finnish jazz pianist Tuomas Antero Turunen (b. 1980) was awarded in the 12th Bösendorfer Montreux Jazz Piano Solo Competition with a Special Prize. The winner of the solo competition for professional jazz pianists was Russian pianist Noclay Sidorenko.
